About Us
While
working as a Safety Director at an aerospace component
manufacturer we had a surprise audit performed by OSHA which
resulted in a verbal warning for being in violation of our
bench grinder's tool rests and tongue guards. Even though it
wasn't a fine or finding I thought that there had to be a gauge
out there to aware operators and prevent this potential hazard
from reoccurring. Over the next several weeks I researched
several safety catalogs and internet searches and found there
was no product out there of this nature. With the level of
hazard and numerous cases of deaths from the lack of compliance
within the manufacturing industries along with my background in
engineering, I knew I could design an awareness device that
could help prevent these hazards from occurring.
In
the summer while remodeling my kitchen I was building kitchen
cabinets and came up with several wooden prototypes from the
leftover scraps of wood. I then persisted to make several steel
prototypes with metal stampings similar to the wooden
prototypes. I soon finalized the design and approached a
plastic manufacturer to build plastic mold versions of my
prototypes. As of January 2009 I have progressed to making
injection mold tooling and started the first production run
with initial product release of March 2009. The overall intent
is to prevent at least "ONE" injury from ever
happening; every injury prevented thereafter is a bonus!!
